Back to the Essence of Thinking: Why We Built ThinkTools

In the AI era, we don't lack execution power — we lack decision quality. Here's how AIWorks is bridging the cognitive gap between inspiration and action.

Decision-Making Is the Highest-Leverage Work

If you manage a product, a studio, or spend a significant part of your day under pressure from making calls, you've probably bookmarked more than a few thinking frameworks.

You know the Eisenhower Matrix for urgent/important triage. You pull up RICE scoring when the roadmap gets noisy. You try ICE when risk feels fuzzy. But here's the reality: these tools are useful, but when you actually need them, the decision has often already been made — hastily, in a Slack thread, under time pressure.

AIWorks Dev built ThinkTools to close that loop.

What Is ThinkTools?

We didn't want to build another bloated encyclopedia. ThinkTools is laser-focused on two things:

A curated mental model library. Every model — from First Principles to Decision Matrix — is distilled to its essence. No 4,000-word marketing copy. Just: when to use it, how to apply it, a real-world example, and its limitations.

An AI decision advisor. This is an agent that actually understands logic. When you're facing something specific — "50 feature requests, 3 engineers, one sprint" — the AI matches you to the right framework, asks you the clarifying questions, and walks you to a conclusion.

We also designed a diagnostic quiz: if you don't even know which model to reach for, answer four questions about your current bottleneck and the system points you in the right direction.

Why We Built It

AIWorks Dev is a small studio that obsesses over craft. While building our other products, we kept running into the same meta-problem: What should we build next? Is this really the most important thing right now?

We realized the answer wasn't more task cards — it was better thinking frameworks. We built this tool for ourselves, then realized every developer and founder around us needed it too.

In V1, you get:

  • Core model library — RICE, MoSCoW, Decision Matrix, and more
  • AI advisor powered by GPT-4o-mini — structured, traceable recommendations, no vague platitudes
  • Zero-friction onboarding — no account required to start a session, free trial available

An Invitation to Build Together

ThinkTools is the first step in the AIWorks toolchain. Our leverage comes from the quality of our thinking, not the volume of our hours.

If you're facing a hard decision this week, open ThinkTools and try it. Send feedback to support@aiworks.dev.
